MOBILE CRISIS STABILIZATION SERVICES

for Children, Adolescents, and Adults

CONTACT US TO LEARN MORE

Mobile Crisis Stabilization services are operated under the Community Based Services umbrella with Family Integrated Counseling Services. The program offers brief, intensive interventions to prevent out of home placement for individuals of all ages experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature that jeopardizes their current community placement. This includes individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental /Intellectual Disability who may or may not possess the capability of verbal communication.

The Department of Medical Assistance (DMAS) defines Crisis Intervention (H2019) as the following: “Crisis Stabilization service provides short term mental health care to non -hospitalized individuals (of all age) experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature. This to address and stabilize the acute mental health needs at the earliest possible time with ongoing services, avert hospitalization or re-hospitalization; provide high assurance of safety and security in the least restrictive environment, and mobilize the resources of the community support system, family members, and others for ongoing maintenance, rehabilitation, and recovery.”

All work is performed within a system-based framework with a person-centered approach utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions. With an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the program is designed to promote healthy and appropriate skill development, provide psychoeducational training and deliver intensive care coordination in order to increase the probability of a client maintaining their current placement in the community. In the event that counseling is needed, it will be provided by a licensed (LMHP/LBA) or licensed-eligible (LMHP-R) member of the treatment team. The program will also provide 24-hour emergency crisis response and engage in ongoing risk assessment to determine if the individual requires a more intensive level of care. Service delivery is performed collaboratively with and in support of other services offered by Family Integrated Counseling Service and is structured to facilitate the stabilization of the client in their home.

Our Outpatient Counseling programs are operated under the Community Based Services umbrella with Family Integrated Counseling Services. The program offers 45 to 60 minutes therapeutic sessions of counseling to treat mental, emotional, physical, and behavior issues to inspire change, improve the quality of life, enable people to overcome obstacles to their well-being, handle difficult situations, make healthy decisions, improve positive feelings, and reach goals. Concerns that may be addressed include but not limited to: Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Insomnia, anger, or post-traumatic stress disorder.

CSUCI defines counseling as, “an opportunity to receive support and experience growth during the challenging times of life. It helps one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, etc. It is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. That allows for the exploration of feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. It focuses on the individual's immediate or near future concerns. It is a one-on-one discussion between the counselor and the client, who is the person seeking treatment. The two form an alliance, relationship or bond that enables trust and personal growth.”

The Family Integrated Counseling Services counseling program seeks to give all its clients an opportunity to receive support and experience growth. To accomplish this goal, all work in the FICS outpatient counseling program is performed within a system-based framework with a person-centered approach utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions. With an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the program is designed to inspire change and improve the quality of life of individuals. Counseling is provided by a licensed (LMHP/LBA) or licensed-eligible (LMHP-R) member of the treatment team. Service delivery is performed collaboratively with and in support of other services offered by Family Integrated Counseling Service and is structured to fit the needs of clients.
